Lonely Thoughts

Rainy night, in dark I lie
With every breath a deepening sigh
All alone I think of you
And every thought is life anew
Anticipation builds within
To glimpse your cheery, bright eyed grin
To hear your voice and bask in your gaze
Like whispering wind on sunny days
For no star can match in size
The sparkle I love behind your eyes
No music can bring the joy I've found
In your caressing whisper's sound
So here I lay with only thoughts
Of blooming, worried love-me-nots
And with each memory of your face
I lie with longing in my place
