BARD
I am music
I live on the battlefield and the plantation
I have slept in the city streets and the ghettos
I travel at the speed of light
and in dying wheelchairs
Here I am spelled out note for note
on a crystal staff
I live alone
under five shimmering strands of light
There is space all around me
and nothing to fill the void inside
These bars are my home and my prison
People pass me by
turned away
by the illusion of my tune
I scream but no one listens
My sould cries out
for relief from this burden
My heart is trapped in copper coils
Rain falls down upon me
pounding me with sorrow
Puddles form, reflections of the past
the timeless sadness I have known
Tear drops swell from my shredded fingertips
The cries of a million lost souls
bombard me, deafen me
surround me, drown me
